OPERA ON THE INTERNET
WITH
DAVE D’AGUANNO

Opera-lovers have the opportunity to usher in the month of February on Friday with a video-stream on Opera-Vision of a performance of Handel's "Xerxes" (1738) that took place earlier this month, direct from Dusseldorf.

Then on Saturday (February 2), it's off to your local cinema (for many of you) for a LIVE HD-transmission from the Met of Bizet's "Carmen." Appearing together in this one are newlyweds (as of 2015, that is) Roberto Alagna & Aleksandra Kurzak in the roles of Don Jose & Micaela, respectively. And, as usual, for those who'd prefer to listen in at home, various internet radio stations will be broadcasting the audio of this matinee performance.

On Swedish Radio, it's time for some Wagner with the LIVE broadcast from Malmo of "The Flying Dutchman."

If relatively early Mozart is more to your taste, you can listen to the January 17, 2019 performance from Salzburg of "La Betulia Liberata" (1771) on ORF (Austria).

And if you happened to have missed the 2017 broadcast from the Paris Opera of Rimsky-Korsakov's "Snow Maiden" you can tune in to German Radio & treat yourself to the re-broadcast.

Enjoy!

DAVE
