OPERA ON THE INTERNET
WITH
DAVE D’AGUANNO

Two simultaneous broadcasts of Bizet's "Carmen" turn up on Saturday afternoon's schedule this coming weekend. One of them is a broadcast from last Saturday's performance of the work that took place in Stockholm, while the other one is a broadcast of a November 2018 performance from Florence.
(Florence: www. radio3.rai.it/)

Besides the 2 "Carmen" broadcasts, one can enjoy a bit of Verdi as BBC Radio 3 brings us a recent performance of "Simon Boccanegra." This one took place in London's Royal Opera House.

Radio 4 (the Netherlands) will be airing a performance of Korngold's "Die Tote Stadt" which took place earlier this month (a Reisopera production).

The Saturday afternoon Met broadcast happens to be the audio of the recent (Nov. 10, 2018) HD-transmission of Nico Muhly's "Marnie."

Then on Sunday, some relatively unknown Rossini is on hand, as his opera "Zelmira" (1822) can be heard in a performance that was part of last summer's Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad (July 27, 2018).

And once again, Puccini's "La Boheme" pops up on the schedule. This time it's a LIVE video-stream from Berlin, courtesy of OperaVision.

Enjoy!

DAVE
