OPERA ON THE INTERNET WITH
DAVE D'AGUANNO

This Saturday's opera schedule on internet radio is devoted almost entirely to the Met's 1 o'clock LIVE broadcast of Rossini's "Armida." Featured in the cast are, for the most part, the singers who appeared last May in the HD-transmission, with Renee Fleming in the title role and Lawrence Brownlee as Rinaldo.

Other broadcasts of interest include a performance from last month of Mozart's "Cosi fan Tutte" (Vienna State Opera) on German Radio.

Also of note is a performance from last August of Oskar Nedbal's light opera from 1916: "Die Winzerbraut" (translated as "The Vineyard Bride") to be heard on ORF.

French Radio digs into its archives for a 1983 performance featuring the one-and-only Jessye Norman in the role of Aricie in Rameau's "Hippolyte & Aricie" (1733).
