OPERA ON THE INTERNET WITH
DAVE D'AGUANNO

Why not kick things off tomorrow night (Thursday) with a LIVE performance from the Met of Rossini's "Le Comte Ory" starring Juan Diego Florez in the title role? Florez & the rest of the cast will be featured in the upcoming LIVE HD-transmission on Saturday, April 9, so you can catch an audio "preview" by tuning in tomorrow night at 8 p.m. Just go to www.metopera.org & click on "Watch & Listen" to be directed to the free Real Player audio stream at the time of the performance.

Then on Monday (March 28) also at 8 p.m., you can catch an audio "preview" of "Capriccio" by Richard Strauss, which will be televised from the Met on April 23, with the same cast as heard on Monday's free LIVE audio stream. Renee Fleming can be heard as the Countess on both dates.

On Saturday (the 26th), most internet radio stations will be carrying the LIVE Met performance of Tchaikovsky's "Queen of Spades" featuring Karita Mattila in the role of Lisa.

Two Donizetti operas are also on tap for this Saturday:

"L'Elisir d'Amore" can be heard on German Radio in a performance from Venice that was given on October 29, 2010. (www.dradio.de/dkultur/)

"Don Pasquale" (his last comic opera) will be broadcast LIVE from Stockholm on Swedish Radio. (http://sverigesradio.se/p2/)

Enjoy!
