It's a "there's-something-for-everybody" kind of Saturday coming up on internet radio for opera-lovers!

Those whose tastes lean towards music from the 18th century can savor Vivaldi's 1727 3-act opera "Farnace" as it is aired on French Radio in a performance from Ambronay.

Shakespearean comedy by way of 19th century opera comes in the form of Otto Nicolai's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" in a performance that took place in Vienna this past December.

More comic opera, this time from this summer's festival in Graz, can be heard on Belgian radio station Klara, which will be broadcasting Smetana's "The Bartered Bride" in a performance from July 2.

Moving into the 20th century, there's Puccini's 3 one-act operas "Il Trittico" (comprising "Il Tabarro"/"Suor Angelica"/"Gianni Schicchi") which can be heard on BBC Radio 3 as it comes to us from London's Royal Opera House.

On the more "modern" side, you can always tune in to Britten's strangely compelling "The Turn of the Screw" on ORF in a performance from Vienna (either LIVE or tonight's performance, the station not specifying which).

Then -- for all of you Rossini buffs -- there's "Cenerentola" (a.k.a. "Cinderella") in a Canadian Opera Company performance that took place this past April.

Last, but not least, NPR has dug deep into the Met archives to resurrect a performance of another Rossini gem: "The Barber of Seville." Soprano Lily Pons (remember her?) sings the role of Rosina in this broadcast from December 16, 1950.
