OPERA ON THE INTERNET
WITH
DAVE D’AGUANNO
From April
2017 comes a performance of Offenbach's "Tales of Hoffmann" to be
heard this Saturday afternoon (June 8) on KUSC. Tenor Vittorio Grigolo assumes
the title role, as he has done so often these last few years.
Also on
Saturday, you can hear the March 1, 2019 performance from Ludwigsburg of
Wagner's "Die Walkure" as broadcast on German Radio.
BBC Radio 3
gives us a rare opportunity to hear Francesco Cavalli's "La Calisto"
(premiered in 1651). The performance being broadcast is one that took place in
Madrid in March of this year.
Also from
March, there's a performance from Bolzano of Catalani's "La Wally" to
be heard on Radio 3 (RAI). This same Italian radio station will also be
bringing us yet another opera performance: on Tuesday (June 11), Rossini's
"Cenerentola" will be broadcast LIVE from Rome.
Enjoy!
DAVE
