OPERA ON THE INTERNET
WITH
DAVE D’AGUANNO
Most
internet radio stations will be carrying the LIVE performance from the Met on
Saturday afternoon, this being the first of the Met's regular series of
Saturday afternoon radio broadcasts for the current 2018/2019 season. The opera
being heard on Saturday is Boito's "Mefistofele" which hasn't been
done at the Met in quite a number of years, so fans of this opera will, no
doubt, be delighted to listen in on Saturday. With tenor Michael Fabiano as
Faust and soprano Angela Meade as Margherita, this should be well worth
hearing!
Then on
Sunday (Dec. 2), it's "Verdi Time" once again. Opera fans can either
listen to the LIVE broadcast from Rome of "Rigoletto" on Radio 3
(RAI), or WATCH the LIVE video-stream from Munich of "Otello" with
tenor Jonas Kaufmann in the title role.
("Rigoletto"
"Verdi
Time" continues on Tuesday (Dec. 4) when the Met offers another of its
FREE live audio-streams. At 7:55 pm, a performance of "La Traviata"
can be heard on the Met's website. With soprano Diana Damrau as Violetta and
tenor Juan Diego Florez as Alfredo, this should be another "must" for
many opera-lovers!
Enjoy!
