OPERA ON THE INTERNET
WITH
DAVE D' AGUANNO

Tomorrow evening at 6:55 p.m., fans of the operas of Richard Strauss -- as well as those of soprano Renee Fleming -- may want to listen to the free LIVE audio-stream from the Met of "Der Rosenkavalier" which can be regarded as something of a preview of the upcoming HD-transmission of this opera.

Then on Saturday (April 15), the Met will be broadcasting its LIVE matinee performance of Verdi's "Aida" which can be heard on several internet radio stations.

Wagner enthusiasts need not feel left out, as ORF (Austria) on Saturday will be broadcasting the April 2, 2017 performance of "Parsifal." This is a Vienna State Opera production.

Anyone who enjoys the operas of Tchaikovsky (notably "Eugene Onegin" & "The Queen of Spades") will no doubt be interested in the February 2017 performance from Naples of "The Enchantress" (sometimes known as "The Sorceress"). It's on Radio 3 (RAI).

An opera by Vivaldi? Sure, why not? German Radio has a delayed broadcast on Saturday of Friday's performance from Turin of this composer's "L'Incoronazione di Dario" -- a work which had its premiere in 1717.

Then, as far as 20th century operas are concerned, Radio 4 (the Netherlands) is airing a recent performance from Amsterdam of Alban Berg's "Wozzeck."

Sorry, no Mozart, no Puccini, & no "Carmen" -- But there's always NEXT weekend!

Enjoy!

DAVE
