On
ORF (Austria) this coming Saturday (August 27), it's Handel's 3-act opera
"Ariodante" which had its world premiere in January 1735. The
performance being broadcast is one that took place in Lausanne earlier this
year (April 22).
Also
from Lausanne, Swedish Radio is broadcasting the October 9, 2015 performance of
Rossini's "Cenerentola."
Tenor
Piotr Beczala can be heard singing the role of Edgardo in Donizetti's
"Lucia di Lammermoor" which turns up on NPR's schedule this Saturday.
It's part of the series of broadcasts from the San Francisco Opera's 2015/2016
season, this particular work having been given in October of last year.
Moving
ahead into the 21st century, there's the world premiere of Georg Friedrich's
Haas's new opera "Koma" on German Radio. The premiere performance of
this work took place in Schwetzingen on May 27, 2016. Actually, interested
listeners can access this same performance at any time at the youtube link
below (audio-only).
