OPERA ON THE INTERNET
WITH
DAVE D’AGUANNO

There are actually two opera performances from Ireland scheduled for this Friday (April 12). From Dublin, it's a LIVE performance of Erich Korngold's "Die Tote Stadt" while OperaVision will be presenting a video-stream of a February 2019 performance from Irish National Opera of Gluck's "Orfeo & Euriduce."

Then on Saturday, the Met continues its cycle of Wagner's Ring operas with a LIVE broadcast of "Siegfried" which can be heard on many internet radio stations.

Want more Wagner? ORF (Austria) has a LIVE Salzburg performance of "Die Meistersinger" on their Saturday schedule.

On the other hand, Verdi is represented with a performance from Amsterdam of his relatively early opera "Nabucco."

Plus, from Mozart's teen-age years, his opera "Il Re Pastore" (1775) can be heard in a performance that took place in Venice this past February 15.

Also on RAI's Radio 3, Sunday brings us a performance from Rome of Franz Lehar's "The Merry Widow."

And on French Radio, we get to hear another opera by Tchaikovsky which is rarely performed (at least, outside of Russia). His opera "The Enchantress" will be broadcast on Sunday in a performance that took place in Lyons on March 15 of this year.

Enjoy!

DAVE
