The final LIVE matinee broadcast from the Met
for the current season will take place this coming Saturday with a performance
of Mozart's "Abduction from the Seraglio" which can be heard on
various internet radio stations.
Other LIVE broadcasts include a performance of
Debussy's "Pelleas & Melisande" from the Malmo Opera, which can
be heard on Swedish Radio and can be accessed for several days after the actual
broadcast.
On French Radio, there's a broadcast of the
April 1, 2016 performance from Lyons of Halevy's "La Juive."
Radio 4 (the Netherlands) has scheduled
Wagner's "Parsifal" as performed in Stockholm this past March.
Those who are interested in getting a
head-start on their opera-listening for the weekend can tune in to Radio 3
(RAI) on Friday for a LIVE broadcast from Venice of Donizetti's "La
Favorite."
Opera fans who thrive on LIVE opera videos
and/or the operas of Puccini will probably want to check out the TWO
performances of "Tosca" that are being video-streamed from Genoa this
week. The first one takes place today! -- But if this information comes to you
too late, the second video-stream is being offered on Saturday, with a
difference in casting for the soprano & tenor leads.
