OPERA ON THE INTERNET
WITH
DAVE  D' AGUANNO

British composer Iain Bell's new opera "In Parenthesis" has had its world premiere performances in Cardiff (Welsh National Opera), and The Opera Platform is providing us with a FREE video-stream of the work on Friday, July 1. Then on Saturday (July 2) BBC Radio 3 is offering an audio-only broadcast of this same work.
(audio link: www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/)

On more familiar ground, there's Bizet's "Carmen" on German Radio in a performance from Darmstadt which took place earlier this month (June 4).

Continuing their series of broadcasts from Lyric Opera of Chicago's 2015/2016 season, NPR is presenting a broadcast of a performance from this past February of Gounod's "Romeo & Juliette."

Soprano Diana Damrau seems to have been performing the title role of Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" all over the place quite recently, and one of those numerous performances took place in Paris on May 27 of this year. French Radio gives us a chance to hear it this Saturday.

Enjoy! -- & Have a safe & happy Fourth of July weekend!
