~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~OPERA ON THE INTERNET WITH DAVE D'AGUANNO
This Saturday (August 7), you can get a head start at noontime with a performance of Wagner's "Siegfried" (taped from L.A. Opera this past June)
(http://www.wfmt.com/)
If Richard Wagner is not your thing, you can give his son Siegfried a shot at 2 p.m. at which time his opera "Banadietrich" is getting a rare airing from a 1995 performance. (Son Siegfried actually wrote almost 20 operas of his own!)
(http://www.radiostephansdom.at/)
At 1 p.m., KOHM is broadcasting a performance from Florence (November '09) of Janacek's "Cunning Little Vixen."
(http://kohm.org/news/)
Plus, at 1:30, you'll get a chance to listen to last Sunday's Salzburg performance of Berg's "Lulu" (which was also televised in Europe, by the way)
(http://oe1.orf.at/programm/)
Then, starting on Monday, August 9, RAITRE is broadcasting the operas from this summer's Rossini Festival in Pesaro, starting with his opera "Sigismondo."
Hope you can listen to at least one of these interesting operas!
DAVE
